Good Night OLOH

Thank you, OLOH, for the ride of our lives. Literally.

Precisely eight years ago, we were excitedly in contract for the vessel that would become OLOH. While we were longtime boaters with a lot of wonderful experiences under our former keels, this was the vessel that would bring a new level of life-changing adventures and lifelong friendships into our world. We will be forever grateful for the care she took of us and the life we have been able to live because of her in our travels along the east coast of the United States and beyond.

But change is good, and now it is time for a change. We feel incredibly lucky to have passed her along to a couple who, with their pup, we believe will be wonderful stewards of this special vessel as they cruise into a new life of their own adventures. We wish them smooth seas.

So while we take this pause, we raise our glasses to celebrate the past and are excited about what is next. Our mantra along the way has been, “find water, live life.” We certainly have done that and we will maintain that heading, never taking for granted the good fortune of our journey and the beauty of each sunset.

The spirit of OLOH lives on as will the name when the moment is right, and the bell will continue to ring. It has meant so much to us to have you along for the Adventures Of OLOH, the story of which is still being written.

With One Love and One Heart, we wish you fair winds…

-Jasper, Tim, and A.J.

  1. Congratulations and best wishes with whatever is next! Hope to see you back on the river very soon. This post has me weeping, thinking about our lovely friends, Paul and Joann, who took many happy and love filled voyages with you. Those beautiful memories will remain with you and stay with you wherever and how-ever you go!! Love to the three of you from Windrose, Joe and Christina.
    1. Thank you Christina. If you look back at our blog entries over the years, Paul was always one of the first to comment, something that was not lost on us as the comments began to come in for this post. We will never take for granted our time on the water and that which we spent with those wonderful human beings. Thank you for the kind words and we will continue to look forward to seeing you and Joe out there.
  2. Oh my gosh. I must say I am really surprised. But like you said, change is good. You didn't mention what will keep you busy now. Just curious.
  3. Jasper, just wanted to take a moment to thank you for keeping our good friends AJ and Tim out of harms way for so many years. I know that it has been exhausting! However, I'm sure that you agree that in some way (still unknown!) that they were worth it. I think that it is a good idea that we keep our two-leggers close as the years continue to go by. They'd be lost without us... Daisy Jane and Little Dude
    1. Thank you so much Daisy Jane and Little Dude. And you are right - it has been exhausting. But I've been well rewarded for my efforts, including having the opportunity to get to know you and yours as we first began our adventure, something we'll never forget. I know my two-leggers are so happy to be able to call you friends! And yes - we must keep a close watch. GPS can only do so much to keep the humans from being lost!! -Jasper
  4. She’s taken care of you three. You were great stewards. What vessel are you looking at to continue your adventures? Missing those videos so get to adding a new member of the family sooner than later!
    1. You know boaters... we're always looking to what's next. Although during our ownership of OLOH we really stopped doing that to just enjoy what we had, which we truly did. So the what's next is unknown as we write this, but videos will inevitably return!
  5. We will miss reading your blog and watching the videos of your always fun and educational adventures on OLOH. A fabulous trio who helped inspired us to begin our own cruising adventures. The Parkers MV Viewfinder
    1. It means the world to us to have played even a small part. Enjoy your adventures to the fullest!
  6. Understand and know you have used OLOH to the fullest and enjoyed wonderful voyages aboard her, but I'll be sad no more wonderful videos with Jasper and unique celebratory libations when you are safely in port.
  7. I'm sad. I lived vicariously through your adventures on the eastern seaboard and the islands, while I myself was motoring back and forth to Catalina Island in MV Tally Ho. I was envious of the experiences you were able to have, the friends you met along the way and the places you enjoyed. While boating on the west coast can't compare to your island adventures, I'll keep in mind your admonition, "find water, live life". "Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the one's that you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your Sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain
  8. Congratulations on the sale of your beautiful water home. Best of luck and love in what your future brings. We have been traveling the world since June 2022 and loving new adventures, new cultures and oh the food. Take care, love to the 3 of you!
    1. Thanks Beth. It was wonderful getting to know you & Michael during our journey. Sounds like you're off on an incredible adventure and we wish you all good things.
  9. We loved our time with you on OLOH, she was a beautiful vessel and our visit was unforgettable. We are excited for what is next, cheers!
    1. Seeing familiar waterways through your eyes will always be an unforgettable memory of our time on OLOH!
  10. I want to just thank you guys for your absolutely wonderful videos and blogs. It has been a true pleasure to watch over the years your adventures, which have motivated countless individuals to take to the seas and cruising life. I count myself among those lucky enough to know the thrill of new dawns on the water. It is a bittersweet time to be sure, but I must site the quote from the back of my wooden boat tee shirt “ Bundin er båtlaus madur- Bound is boatless man”. Wishing much peace and love to you all. Fred Barnes M/V Aquarius.
  11. Dear Tim and AJ, Wow so sad (selfishly so) to hear that Patricia Gale II and OLOH won’t be able to meet up, but we know the next Tim and AJ chapter will be another great one too! Have absolutely loved watching and learning from your videos, and having had the pleasure of getting to know you both makes the content even more enjoyable. Looking forward to the next time we can ring the bell together! Love, Tom and Trish
  12. We've been delayed in checking for an update but knew it was coming. Bravo Zulu on an adventure well lived! Can't wait to see what's next. We're still slowly heading your way so heads up...we'll be ringing the bell on Chasing 80 soon! Love and miss you all!
    1. If there was ever proof that the best part of the boating life is the good people you meet along the way, our friendship is it. Thanks for the kind words and we will see you soon... get ready!
