OLOH TV – Drama Before Paradise

We were recently asked why our videos don’t show us boating in rough weather, arriving at marinas in the pouring rain with vicious wind, and the other troublesome moments that inevitably happen when you’re cruising.  Well, the first part of that question is easy to answer.  We are fair-weather boaters.  We plan around weather and sea conditions very carefully as we have learned the hard way, as most boaters have, about the stresses that come with traveling in the rough stuff.  We’re just not interested in that – for us and especially for Jasper, OLOH’s furry First Mate.  Although we have certainly been caught in our fair share of nasty weather and you can see some less than ideal conditions in some of our content.

As far as other issues, we have been very fortunate with OLOH (knock on teak) to have only had a few landings that were rougher than we would have liked.  And we’ve evaded groundings and other major troubles along the way that bring on the stress and delays that all boaters know.  That is until we attempted to leave Naples, Florida on this particular occasion.

Sometimes things just don’t go according to plan.  And then it rains.  But the rewards can be great.  Watch it all unfold here…
